Silver engagement ring. Also called brides ring. Spiral ring like this was worn by young women in 6th-12th centuries in Latvia. It has charms with ancient Latvian symbols that keep away evil spirits & bring luck… A legend says that there was a beautiful young girl who had admirers & she could not choose which one to marry. The girl asked the village silversmith to make a ring with charms, each having a different symbol & representing one of her admirers. She decided to marry the man whose charm came off first.
