One of the most distinctive groups of Caucasian rugs, Perpedil is named after a town in caucasus.this rug has a handsome appearance & particularly pleasing palette.As for most antique classic Perpedil the ground is surrounded by a Kufic border. The field composition of this Perpedil consists of series of ram’s horn motifs in the center of the field & pointing inward from each of the long sides.between these principal motifs is a variety of geometric ornaments & highly stylised floral motifs.between each of the center ram’s horns, there will be found a repeated series of geometric motifs with flanking birds. All dyes used to make this caucasian Perepedil rug are organic, there are extensive repiling of the rug & few restorations completed by master weavers, all sides & ends are original & overall condition of the rug is very good.
