This antique wood engraving by Thomas W. Nason (1889-1971) is titled “Little Farm”. It was printed in 1955 as a limited edition engraving for the Associated American Artists of New York. Nason was regarded as a wood engraver without peer at the time. By 1955, Nason was living in Lyme Connecticut & his subject matter reflected his New England environment. The paper size of the engraving measures 7 1/4 inches by 10 3/4 inches. The image area measures 5 1/2 inches by 9 inches. It is signed & dated in pencil lower right. The paper is a light cream color. The engraving is in good condition. It does have some slight toning from former matting material & remnants of glue on the back where it was attached to the mat. It comes with the Associated American Artists label which was at one time attached to the back of a frame.
