Fish Serving Set made by Stinthal China of Crooksville Ohio in the early 1900s. The set consists of six (6) small (8" diameter) plates & an oval platter (Approx. 10" by 14"). Each Plate & the Platter has a signed portrait of a fish by ‘A. Bihr’ (signed) in the water with a green & amber border lined by gilt gold. They each are marked on the back ‘Stinthall China Crooksville’. All pieces are in good condition, with some crazing. See last 2 photos, all pieces stamped on the bottom. This is a wonderful set for wall or shelf display; lovely antique, unique housewarming or wedding shower gift. Bit O’History: The English manufacturing process crossed the Atlantic & found a home in the eastern United States, most notably in southeastern Ohio, which became known as the pottery capital of America in the early 20th century. in operation there from 1902 to 1959, the Crooksville China Company produced chinaware still valued by collectors.
