This is a very heavy sculpture weighing almost 4 pounds & the age is unknown. It is believed to be Mexican tephrite, a volcanic, igneous rock, but could be rock from a South America country. The rock shows patina, but no cut marks in creating the sculpture. The carving is done smoothly, with what might be a well for offerings or incense on the top of the ram’s back. Found in my uncle’s estate, but no information accompanied it. The piece stands 4 inches tall & the ram measures 6 inches from front to back & 3 inches wide.
