Presented is a charming gold & enamel bar pin in the form of a bird. This is an English piece, dating to around the turn of the century. The body of the bird is made from a pearl, while the wings & tail feathers & head are done in blue enamel. The enamel work is very well done, thick & dark blue shading into light blue, quite detailed. The pin has an old, simple clasp like that of a safety pin. This piece is in good overall condition. There is a small chip to the tip of the enamel on the two tail-feathers, but this looks similar to the enamel on the wings. The rest of the enamel is in great shape. The clasp functions well. There are no breaks & no repairs. This piece is stamped & guaranteed 15ct gold purity. The pin is approximately 2 inches long. This piece weighs 3.5 grams.
