Undyed white Cheviot blend sock roving, so nice you may want to spin it for a shawl. This batch of undyed roving is 70% Cheviot with staple length 3-4, 20% tussah silk, 10% mohair. It was designed for those who want to spin their own socks. Other uses include general purposes in shawls, scarfs, sweaters. This listing is for 4 ounces, plenty for most socks. Cheviot is a wool I have found reliable in my sock yarns for natural machine wash capabilities. It has a unique spiral crimp that resists felting & shrinking. These particular fleeces have a nice medium soft hand. Not next to skin for everyone, but any item made with this blend will have superior strength & durability over merino. Because of the high silk/mohair content, drape is also pretty good. Mohair is a superb substitute for nylon to increase strength on this already durable wool. Silk adds strength as well. I have a few braids of dyed roving that I will sell separately. As always, unique products from US small farm fiber where I am purchasing fleeces at fair prices from shepherds who take great care of their animals. Cheviot Silk Mohair Sock Blend Roving
