This miniature dish was made by Herbert Hooijkaas in the last century. Its detailed repousse design depicts a scene from the Dutch countryside with with two cows, a small windmill & a tower visible in the distance. A large swallow looks down on the scenefrom above. The small low dish has a stern mustachioed face in repousse on each side handle. The mustache is very long & curved forming a good part of the design. On close inspection, one can see the face is sticking its tongue out. Leaves, flowers, & tulips frolic around the edge of the dish. An interesting & example of Dutch craftsmanship. Very collectible.
