A gorgeous little yew wood wand pendant from a hedge that is 100’s of years old - & which occasionally needs pruning! Its English yew, from the area surrounding Glastonbury, UK - the ancient Isle of Avalon. Yew is a beautiful, fine grained wood with gorgeous colors. It’s the final tree of the Celtic Ogham Alphabet & is associated with the Dark Goddess, with changes & transitions. It often is grown in graveyards around Britain, where the trees can grow incredibly old - one local to Glastonbury is over 1000 years old. The pendant pendant is hung on a generous length of waxed cotton cord with a reclaimed wooden olive wood bead & measures about 5 inches in length. It’s an unusual pendant, & the perfect small wand to travel with. We have many different kinds of wood in the workshop, & might be able to make similar pendants made from a different tree.
