This book is an educational, inspirational, spiritual collection of true short stories that were written while the author was working as an acupuncturist on a cruise ship for nearly two years. It will captivate readers and broaden their horizons as they learn about new places, cultures, traditions, languages, foods, customs, and her personal and professional experiences and adventures at each port. The book manifested because during her travels I sent emails home to family and friends and they enjoyed them so much that they forwarded the emails to their friends and encouraged her to collect and publish her writings. With the popularity of reality TV shows and blogs, it is clear that people are more interested in other people’s true life stories and adventures than they are in fairy-tales and fiction. For that reason, my book is unique and innovative. It may be the first book in a new genre: blog books. There are several examples of other books that have similarities to mine, which were wildly successful. First and foremost is the Chicken Soup for the Soul series. Like Chicken Soup for the Soul, the format of my book is in short stories that can be read out of order if the reader wishes. I have also included a vast variety of inspirational, spiritual, and often humorous quotes before each story and chapter to uplift the reader and prepare him/her for the upcoming material. Another best-selling book that is similar to mine is Eat, Pray, Love: One Woman’s Search for Everything Across Italy, India and Indonesia by Elizabeth Gilbert. Although they are in different formats, both books are about a woman’s search for the important things in life. In conclusion, Fantastic Voyage is destined to enrich and inspire people across the globe with its touching true stories that make people feel like they are on a virtual vacation. I envision the book being translated into several different languages, being made into a movie, and being sold at airports and ship ports worldwide.
