This is a great calligraphy gift or addition to one of my sea themed glass pens, a little octopus with tentacles that hold your pen or brush. It can even be used as a fun chopstick holder, ideal for sushi & seafood meals too! Two of the tentacles curl upwards to hold any pens or brushed that are still wet with ink, & I’ve made his body tilt away from these to act as a counter ballance too. Its about 41mm tall (1.62 inchs) & about 70-75mm (about 2 3/4inches) I’ve made this octopus by melting & manipulating borosilicate glass (‘Pyrex’ is the well known brand name of this type of glass) directly in the flame to have maximum control over the glass. Every one that I make is unique in both the colours I use & the shape! I’ve created a speckled effect with green to blue & cream tones over a light transparent teal green glass It is supplied with a certificate, hand signed by me, stating that this is a handmade glass item made by me, & a plain gift box. There may be some slight surface imperfections, & internal bubbles, as this is entirely hand formed glass. (Pen is shown for demonstation only & NOT included!) The glass has been fully annealed in microprocessor controlled kiln to improve toughness, but it is still glass & should not be thrown around! Every one I make is always slightly different, so is always a true one of a kind piece of artisan flamework made entirely by hand by lampwork in my studio in the heart of the English countryside.
