An exquisite Georgian English silver plate meat or food dome that dates between 1810-1850. Most likely produced by Sheffield. The shapely dome has stunning detail. The front has an early heraldic goat/ram crest. The handle is quite ornate. It measures 18" long by 14" wide & stands approx. 11-1/4" tall to the top of the handle. Quite a heavy piece at over 5 pounds. Superb condition with a gorgeous patina. Some light scratches & a couple of tiny dings. Two different European hallmarks on the underside. A truly extraordinary dome for decor or serving! Grand Georgian English Old Silver Plate 18" Meat Food Domed Cover With Heraldic Crest, Hotel Silver, Cover, Sheffield
