The Magic Zoo’s unique bronze jewelry has been created by artist Merry Rosenfield in her home studio. Merry sculpts each original model in polymer clay. She uses only her hands & sometimes an occasional texturing tool to add depth & detail. Merry’s original designs are then cast in bronze from this hand crafted model. Bronze is an alloy of copper & tin. Bronze will form a patina with time, although all of The Magic Zoo pieces are coated with a lacquer finish to help protect it from forming the patina. However, some people do enjoy the look of the patina. If a patina develops after a few years, & you prefer the bright bronze look, I have read that you clean your jewelry with a soft cloth then apply a paste made with lemon juice & baking soda. Simply work into the design, leave for 30 minutes & rinse! Your bronze should look good as new.
