This box is exquisite & was created around 1950s or 1960s by Chinese or Malayan artisans living in Indonesia, most probably in Sumatra or in Borneo. The design is very much in style of some apothecary pieces made in Imperial China around 1880s but with a rustic & naïve touch more proper to its modest origins. The mystical beauty of this wooden box with lid make it a talking piece.
