These blouses are embroidered & sewn completely by hand. They are made in the home environment. The women who make these blouses occupy their days with planting or tending crops, tending animals,(usually chickens & pigs) cooking three meals a day for their families, doing the laundry & rearing their children. The blouses are made in the in between time of all of this. The most common answer for how long It takes to make a blouse from start to finish is a high pitched “Eeeeeee"accompanied with an arm gesture that sweeps to give the impression of an expanse. Depending on the intricacy & the demands of life a blouse typically takes between one to two weeks to complete. The purchase of a blouse is filled with gratitude from the one who made it & also by me knowing the time, care, skill & love that went into its creation. The gratitude stays with me as I offer these for sale to a larger market. I am grateful for the opportunity to bring economic justice into these communities. We are changing lives one blouse at a time . I am also grateful for the opportunity to offer such incredible wearable textile art.
