On a recent eastern canadian ‘drive-about’, we came across several pieces of religious statuary that are simply amazing & so very beautiful (and, obviously, we couldn’t resist bringing home for you!) purchased from a convent local to the area (the nuns have most humbly requested we not disclose their location), these statues are impressive in every respect & are the result of a true labour of love. each year a group of very talented nuns come together to produce a very limited number of hand-made & painted pieces of each of the saints & various religious figures from the church’s history. this precious group of nuns do all of the work from molding the statues to hand painting & decorating each piece (they even make their own boxes… simply inspiring!). we were told that each piece is a colaberated effort of 15 nuns each contributing their expertise with many hours of love, faith & devotion going into the crafting of each & every statue. no two pieces are identical & this is an age-old craft that will not be continued for many more years as there are so few new nuns coming into the ‘fold’ to accept the ’torch’ so to say. truly you are certain to be amazed by the beauty (not to mention the love you can’t help but feel emanating from them). this particular offering is a statue which measures approximately 8" height Hand Made Religious Statue Jesus Alter By The Nuns Of Quebec Canada
