This bird house was completely thrown on the potter’s wheel in two separate sections (Lid & Base) & then high fire glazed in AVIOR’S (my) exclusive Saigon Red glaze combination. This is a SMALL bird house designed for small birds such as hummingbirds & finches as well as any other small bird that needs a home. We also have this available in a larger standard style in our listings. This bird house is made of only the highest quality clays & glazes to ensure a safe, strong home for our bird friends. Great attention is given to every detail: such as easy lift top lid cleaning, drain hole on the bottom, & an entry hole specifically sized for many smaller birds such as the wren. A perch is specifically left off to prevent any threat from larger predatory birds. The whole piece is firmly held together by heavy leather cording & wooden beads to ensure a strong secure hold. The Saigon Red glaze combination is solid black accented by a red poured over glaze, freckled across the crown of the piece. The red contrasts the glossy black creating an Eastern look with a modern feel. Dimensions: 2 1/2" Outside Wide/ 6-7" Tall (Physical Bird House)/ 14" Total from bottom up to top of cord.
