This book attempts at reinforcing the human cause for freeing the world from nuclear weapons. Providing background of nuclear arms control and the concept and history of nuclear-free zones; it makes political and comparative analysis of the proposals of the treaties of Antarctica, outer space and Sea-bed. Further, the book studies the Latin America nuclear-free zone, established by the Tlatelolco Treaty; and the South Pacific nuclear-free zone, established by the Rarotonga Treaty. It also evaluates the implications of nuclear-free zones and their connections. Finally, it explores the possibilities of attaining nuclear-free world based on non-violent approaches of Mahatma Gandhi.
