Straight from the estate of an opera singer in Remsenburg, New York, these vanity items would make anyone feel like a diva. This listing is for the very large gold-veined mirror tray on which the items are displayed. Gold-veining became a popular way of flaunting extravagance & wealth. The swirls of sparkling gold complement the ormolu metalwork of the border & the vanity accessories & shared the subtle heart & scroll design. This is a very old item & the darkened antique glass does have some imperfections. It has light scratches from the objects that sit upon it & some spots of discoloration on the glass & frame please see the pictures. Also, the metal is quite soft & the mirror is very heavy, so there are spots of breakage & repair on the underside of the rim. It is not meant to carry around. It would be set on a table or desk to display other items. It is slightly footed & has a red velvet underside to protect your surfaces. All items in this set are quite old & in used, imperfect condition. This does not take away from their beauty, in my opinion. Approximately 14.5" x 26.25".
