Nature with whimsy….at Christmas. This vignette features my favorite Christmas deer of all time. Lefton made itof course it’s detailed & just OMG cute. As I was photographing this, it occurred to me that this really is a fairy garden. Terra-cotta pots, plants, birds & really cute little figurines. & snow! An elf sits inside a terra-cotta lantern that has been transformed into his home. If you look closely you see he has his legs spread in a whimsical pose. Too cute. Miniature holly decorates the door & roof. A pair of cardinals keep watch over this wintry scene which is set in an orchid pot that has been lined with burlap & painted a dark, hammered bronze. The burlap is folded over the edge of the orchid pot & held in place with gardening twine & embellished with gilded, miniature pinecones & a few berries. The back of the orchid pot is also decorated with a few gilded pinecones, some berries & a teeny bottlebrush tree. I like for my vignettes to be fun from all sides.
