MAN FROM RUTABAGA CREEK Wild West adventures of a simple farm boy from Rutabaga Creek Community, Texas, from 1870’s through 1890’s. Young Franklin Johnson leaves home to seek employment with the railroad track laying crew. Once in the nearest town, Spanish Grove, Texas, he discovers there is no work available with the railway construction co. Desperate to find any sort of job, he finds employment with the COOL BREEZE SALOON ran by Ben Stockton of Spanish Grove. Called Rooty, because of his home being named Rutabaga Creek Community, young Franklin becomes tough and practices gunmanship until he is very fast and accurate. Rival Saloons owners try running customers away from the Cool Breeze Saloon by sending rough customers and Death Gamblers to purposely make it a dangerous and unpopular place. Senseless killing finally brings out the fury in young Franklin and he shoots down a notorious Chicago mob boss, Lorenzo Mack. The New York, City and Chicago Mob members infiltrate the growing town. With help from the newly established Texas Rangers, and Auxiliary Deputy Sheriff, Rooty Johnson, the mobsters are defeated. There is excitement, danger, horses, cowboys, space ships and extraterrestrials, gunfights, hit-men, ventriloquist, trains, homemade whiskey, outlaws, Sheriffs, posse’s, marriages, and plenty of money, Courtroom drama, interrogations, Stagecoach holdups, tornados, hog killings and vegetable soup, love, sweat, tears, praying, blessings.
