This paper aims to investigate the effect of blending methodologies on the properties of mélange yarn. Dyed and grey fiber components were mixed at the blow room and draw frame stages separately to produce mélange yarns with different shade depths and mixing ratio. Better yarn quality for yarn evenness, imperfections, tenacity, elongation at break and hairiness index was achieved with the draw frame blending methodology as compared to the blow room blending methodology. The mélange yarn quality deteriorates with an increase in shade depth for both blending methodologies. Finally, to identify the type of melange yarn, manufacture method, the mixing ratio of fibers in different colors and application of melange yarn.
