They are cut from very thin (0.011 mm) metallized mylar to a 0.015" (0.381) rough “diameter” particle size (the shape varies from rectangular to oval). We carry many colors beyond the main primary & secondary colors. We also have the interference “Rainbow” multihued, color changing interference flake. To my knowledge, these flakes are the smallest “glitter” flake size you can buy. We now have combinations of two or 3 single color flakes which can have interesting effects, (nearly) complementary color combinations are especially interesting. I hesitate to call this glitter because the small particle size makes the overall effect smoother & more attractive than traditional larger sized glitter. Still very bright but nicer than older glitters. This particle size is pricier than regular glitter, but a little bit goes a long way. These are very lightweight & opaque flakes, so it doesn’t take a very large weight quantity to cover a large surface. Since they are sold by weight & are low density, you get a lot of volume for the low weights you buy them in. These are sometimes used in automotive “Clearcoats” on cars & trucks. They’re also used on paper products like cards & collage, & other craft items. Anywhere you might want to put regular glitter would get an extra “punchiness” & “classiness” from these flakes. As mentioned above we have several 2 color combinations of flakes. There is one color that stands out among them all (although it may be on a different polymer than mylar & a slightly smaller flake size). It is the multihued “Rainbow” color which is more expensive than others because of the applied flake colors are interference colors which change color depending on the angle of view. It can be startling when you first see it with all of separate yet changing colors. The pictures really do not do it justice, it’s amazingly colorful, your eye is drawn to it like a magnet.
