Picture with raku ceramic cat & wooden base. Worked entirely by hand in Italy. It measures 20 x 20 cm. Raku is a technique of Japanese origin that uses all the elements of nature: earth, air, fire & water. The object is modeled by hand with a semi-refractory white clay that resists temperature changes at 980 o. After the first firing it is decorated with enamels & crystalline & cooked a second time in a gas oven up to about 1000 o, arrived at this temperature it is extracted from the incandescent oven & placed in metal containers containing straw or leaves & then in the water to cool it quickly. NOTE. Each piece is handmade from scratch & differs slightly from the one in the photo in shape & color ensuring the originality of the product.
