This is a rare handmade black wearable apron belt for a mourning dress. This is an amazing true antique piece that proves that Victorian women also wished they could have pockets on everything….this beautifully made belt may well have been the original utility belt or fanny pack! Made of black silk, it secures around the waist & has two large pockets that dangle down. This is an authentic item that came with a funeral dress available in another listing. It is in very good condition overall, except the lace has some holes, see pics. Smattering of small holes throughout all of the lace. It dangles down 19" & will fit up to a 34" waist.
