This red silk pant suit with the recycled Afghan cuffs was made by the Old Silk Route in Lahore some years ago. We recycled a pair of hand embroidered cuffs which were originally intended to be used as pant cuffs, as referenced in Janet Harvey’s Traditional Textiles of Central Asia; the page is shown in the last image. This pair of cuffs came out of a trunk at an outdoor market in Islamabad when such markets were permitted. How I wish in hand sight that I had purchased the whole trunk. Such an elegant pair & so well mounted would be a challenge to find today.
