We usually light & burn candles to petition the Loa, the Ancestors or the Universe for something or to take away something. With the same amount of energy we should thank them. Both of my grandmas use to tell me. how people would come to them & ask for candles & spells, but when their request were answer, they would give a simple if not lame thank you. I can remember as a child, my maternal grandma giving offers to the Loa, just out of devotion. My paternal grandma would do the same to her Deities. They would offer honey wine, Rum, candy; They would burn candles & have mini feast. They would play music & dance to Deity & the Loa. I can remember my maternal grandma saying how much Damballah love Creo cornbread & seafood gumbo. With this meal she would craft lovely honey candles. My paternal Grandma would pour white wine & craft a rose candle for the Goddess. I have combined their candle recipes to craft this candle. Rose Honey Candles
