The hexagonal sculpted stem is set upon a clear round foot. Base is etched with “Stuart England.” Stuart Crystal’s impressive history begins in 1827 with Frederick Stuart, an 11 year old orphan who was sent to work at the Redhouse Glassworks in England’s Crystal Mile. in 1853, Frederick & partners founded Mills, Webb & Stuart. Later, the firm would be dominated by the Stuart family alone. in 1995, Waterford Wedgwood bought Stuart Crystal; however, the company closed forever in 2001. Stuart Crystal is renowned for several iconic crystal patterns going back to the late 1800s. The company was also a supplier to shipping liners, including the Queen Mary in the 1930s & the Titanic.
