The Suberb Schima is an attractive evergreen tree in the tea family that is native to Asia. It has white, fragrant, camellia-like flowers that are in clusters at the twig ends. The flowers have 5 petals & many orange stamens. Fruits are subglobose capsules that contain a number of brown, winged seeds. Leaves are elliptic or oblong, rich green, leathery & glossy. They have toothed margins. It grows well over 100 feet tall in the wild & 15-60 feet in height in cultivation. Native to rich, mountainous forests.
