Definitely meant for winter, this is a wool blend bodice, dating to the 1880s or 1890s. The inside layer of this bodice is brushed flannel, & the outside is a nice warm wool or wool blend. The pattern on this piece is subtle but present - a beautiful plaid! This bodice is in lovely shape - it has hooks & eyes down the front for closure. I just love the pleat details on the back! This piece is wonderful for wear, or great for study! I could also see it used as decor, charming for any vintage interior! MEASUREMENTS : Length: 22 inches long Chest: 36 inches Waist: 32 inches Shoulders across the back: 14 inches Sleeves: 22.5 inches long from shoulder seam to cuff CONDITION : This bodice is in as found, not freshly laundered condition. This piece is in wonderful condition indeed! some small holes visible when held up to the light. Slight rusting & corrosion on the hooks & eye. All in all, wonderful condition indeed but not without signs of time & use often inherent in these sweet pieces!
