This book provides an introduction to WPF development. It explains fundamental WPF concepts to let the reader start building applications quickly and easily. As it progresses, the book covers more complex topics, explaining how to handle the exceptions and shortcuts built in to WPF. The book finishes with a series of appendices summarizing WPF concepts and syntax for easy reference.
“WPF Programmer’s Reference” is written primarily for user interface designers and developers. It shows them how to use both Expression Blend and Visual Studio to build user interfaces. It explains how to position and arrange controls, define their properties, and manipulate those properties to produce stunning visual effects.
The book also addresses the needs of programmers writing the code behind the user interface. The book explains how that code is connected to the user interface and shows how operations can be performed using both XAML and C#. (The companion website provides all code examples in both C# and VB.)
After reading the book, a beginner with no previous experience will be able to build dynamic and responsive user interfaces by using WPF with either Expression Blend or Visual Studio.
