Xochicopal ~Copal Florido~Flowering Copal Blend with Camphor Oil 1 bottle 5 ml. Xochicopal in nahuatl (native mexican language) translates to flowering copal or copal florido in Spanish. The essential oil extracted & distilled from a copal tree related to the copal blanco tree (bursera bipinnata). Traditionally known & used for hundreds of years due to its multiple benefits. It has been traditionally used by natives in Mexican communities in the states of Puebla & Guerrero to treat anxiety, seizures, insomnia, insect bites, & other diseases. This product is rarely available & only few people still practice the tradition of extracting this oil. My great grandfather & his forefathers practiced this art. It is laborious due to its lengthy process as the tools used are not modern. My father was the last to continue the tradition. I now have extended family members who continue with this tradition & the harvesting of copal. Currently, there are sustainability focused organizations supervising the extraction of this oil & planting of more trees. Several decades ago these trees were almost extinct. Only a certain amount of this oil is extracted per year under sustainability process. The xochicopal offered was extracted through sustainability efforts. Traditional use: the oil is used topically & ingested for various health reasons. This product offered to you here is not to be ingested. It is to be used topically on skin. The formula is one used in my family for many generations to address insomnia, respiratory issues & to relax. Traditionally it has been used to address nervous system issues & seizures. I added camphor as the other ingredient. Camphor allows quick absorption into the skin. It is the refreshing feeling included in products such as Vaporub or Icy Hot type products. The camphor used is high quality & authentic. Its a natural substance produced in the camphor laurel tree. Traditional method of use: Due to the camphor, this blend has traditionally been used for respiratory issues, to relax, & address insomnia. Rub a drop under nose area & one drop on chest & one drop on upper back for respiratory issues. Rub more drops if needed. Ingredients: xochicopal, camphor Precaution - although no problems have been reported with the ingredients contained in this bottle, it is important to use precaution when using on face & avoid around & in eye area. My knowledge in this area is based on experience in working with & utilizing herbs for this & other purposes.
