Moldavite (Vrabce) specimen Moldavite is the very first stone that I personally ever felt the energy of, the catalyst of my metamorphosis of my scientific fascination with stone, into my metaphysical journey with them. Moldavite is a Tektite, that is thought to have formed about 14.7 million years ago from a meteorite that is thought to have impacted at the Nördlinger Ries Crater in southern Germany. Splatters of the ground material that was melted by that impact cooled as they fell through the air landing mostly in what today is called the Czech Republic. It has been called “The Emerald that fell from the sky” & has been featured on the popular history channel television show “Ancient Aliens”. This particular moldavite was excavated from the Vrabce sand pit.
