The two-part decoration consists of the Holy Roman Empire coat of arms. in the Middle Ages, it probably belonged to a wealthy man, possibly a nobleman. It is perfect for a suit of high military rank or a rich noble lady. Size: 50mm x 40mm Material: brass. Both parts are connected by two hooks, which are securely fixed in the hole. It is quite easy to open & close, but when walking it does not open by itself. On the inside of the brooch, there are 4 rings with which you need to sew it to the clothes you will fasten. Such jewelry was found during excavations in Germany & dates back to the 14th-15th centuries. The clasp is made of gold-colored brass based on historical sources. Both then & now, brass often imitated gold elements. This decoration makes the costume special, adds the spirit of the region, & creates a recognizable look.
