Sydney was just a normal girl about to enter middle school in Atlanta, Georgia when her family took a trip to London. Her father was going to be working at the Tower of London for a week. Even though this was a great opportunity for her dad, she was not looking forward to the trip because while she was gone the biggest social event of the year, the Back to School Pool Party, would take place and she would miss it. This would most assuredly seal her fate as a middle school social outcast. But when she gets to London, strange things begin to happen. She meets Reginald, one of the Tower of London guides and she realizes that he has a whole set of adventures in store for her. She has a chance to meet James Oglethorpe, the founder of the state of Georgia, from the year 1732, through an odd set of circumstances. Sydney and Reginald continue to meet him as they tour the city and as the week goes on, she finds herself enjoying the trip and all she’s learning about history. Her father finishes his work early and she has the chance to get back to Atlanta just in time for the pool party, but there’s one more thing she needs to know about James Oglethorpe. Will she leave London before she learns the truth?
