Polly Parkins, a young prostitute in Victorian London,struggles to become an exclusive, and pampered, courtesan. When she has to give up this ambition she emigrates to the US. Realistic and strong-minded she ends up in New Mexico Territory where she becomes a famous Madam and,in her later years, a respected citizen.“Polly” is based on stories about Sadie Orchard, a real-life NM Madam.
